💪🏻 For Him ... a Father's Day Release

Today at Taylored Expressions we're celebrating the Men in our lives with fun and creative products to let them know we appreciate them.

For my first card I got to work with the 'First Draft' set of dies which, for me is second nature because of all my years working in the land development and new home construction arena! I work with house plans daily so had fun creating with these fun elements and of course thru some of my house plans into the background to tell a story!

The First Draft set includes dies for pencils, pens, markers and a pair of glasses and all the parts to put them together. Using different inks and colors of cardstock, and using your imagination, will bring these elements to life!

For this card I wanted to give the pocket a leather, sueded look so used some ink pouncing, ink blending, a little brayer action as well as rubbed them with some vaseline to give those pieces a richness that using only ink doesn't give. If I had the sewing talent that Jill Hawkins has, I'd have stitched around the pocket to really give it a realistic look!

For my next card I used the new '5 O'Clock' stencil and dies as well as the fun new sentiment set, 'Worth A Shot'. These sentiments are so fun that I'm sure we'll be seeing them a lot in the future because they work well beyond Father's Day or masculine birthdays!

I did a tone-on-tone with the new Wonky Grid background stamp and the newly released Oat Milk ink and cardstock, then added a Pilsner of Beer, an Old Fashioned with a Whiskey Sour, a Snifter of Brandy and finally an English Pub Glass filled with Rum and Coke 😉 then for added fun I hand-cut some coasters to 'land' each of the beverages onto my card. Then how about that hilarious sentiment! 😂 Whether you've been the designated driver or the drinker, I'm sure this sentiment brings back some memories. Don't worry, your secret's safe here!
